Travelling with a pet
Small dogs travel for free, but passenger safety comes first.
If sufficient space is available, pets can travel on public transport at the responsibility of the passenger transporting them. The holder must take all necessary precautions to avoid injury or disturbance to other passengers.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and may not occupy seats. With the exception of small breeds, all dogs must wear a muzzle. At the discretion of other passengers or staff members, guide dogs may be transported without a muzzle.
Please note that one of the following tickets is required for medium-sized and large pets:
- single ticket: 15 cents per km in your respective price category
- Mobilcard Junior (1, 3 or 7 days)
Südtirol Pass and Euregio Family Pass: An additional check-in is required to transport a pet. Tickets for pets are charged at the same rate as the ticket for the Pass holder transporting it. Only one dog can be transported on each Pass. Please note that journeys made by pets do not count towards your mileage.
Südtirol Pass 65+ and Südtirol Pass abo+ : If you have activated the payment function of your Pass, simply check in a second time to transport a pet. Tickets are charged at 15 cents per km in your respective price category.
These fares apply to public transport within the südtirolmobil network in South Tyrol and on regional trains all the way to Trento. Separate tickets for transporting pets are available for cable-car journeys to Colle/Kohlern, Meltina/Mölten, Verano/Vöran and Maranza/Meransen.
Guide dogs and small animals that can be held or sit on a lap travel free of charge. For orientation purposes: Animals that fit into a carrier box measuring a maximum of 70 x 30 x 50 cm do not require a ticket.
